Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called for unity and consensus among the Maa community urging them to desist from divisive politics.
Mudavadi urged the Maa leaders to forge a united front, adding that they should not allow supremacy battles to come between them.
"Do not solicit politics of deceit to bring differences to your two leaders as the President listens to them in equal measures, and for the community to move forward, you all need to advocate for peace and unity and work as a team," the Prime CS said.
"I do not want to get so involved in supremacy battles within the community as you will air them out amongst yourselves and get to a consensus, and we will respect it."
Mudavadi spoke on Saturday when he attended the Homecoming Ceremony Of Kajiado County Majority Leader John Loisa.
He emphasised the need for collaboration and told the governor and all leaders of Kajiado that he would not tire of visiting so that they could pull together for a better Kenya.
He also emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities and maintaining a positive relationship with the President by saying they should not lose the opportunity when they have people who 'have the ear of the president'.
"President Ruto has appointed one of you as the State House Comptroller. You have two great leaders who are like the eye of the government. A true indicator that he values and appreciates the community leadership," Mudavadi said.
He made the remarks even as he urged the Maa community to take centre stage in preserving the environment.
Mudavadi underscored the significance of the community's efforts in wildlife conservation and climate change advocacy.
"The Maa Community including the Samburu have been good champions of Wildlife conservation and great Kenyan ambassadors of climate change. This has gone a long way to earn the president a universal recognition as the global ambassador of climate change. As a government, we will stand by the Maa community to ensure this realisation," Mudavadi said.
On the issue of Amboseli, Mudavadi reiterated Ruto's commitment saying, he will also work hand in hand with the governor and all elected leaders of the community to fulfill the promise of bringing back proceeds from Amboseli to Kajiado County.
Mudavadi also lauded Kajiado Majority Leader Loisa John Ntione Lemayian's victory and the support from the community.
"I want to thank Kajiado County Majority leader Loisa and his family and all those that voted him in. I understand his ward has a huge voter population of over 17,000 people. This is such a big number that equates to a whole constituency in some areas of the country. I laud Loisa for garnering more than 50 percent vote of the electorate. Such a big blessing to the community," Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi also committed to addressing infrastructure issues, promising that he will ensure the projects are earmarked and pursued to the letter.
"From bridges to the roads that were promised by the late General Joseph Nkaiserry, as a government, we will take them up under the hospice of Government Delivery Services to ensure relevant departments take charge to ensure the full realization of this dream," the Prime CS said.
On the need for water, he said the pastoralist community has lost a lot of livestock from the drought menace and the government will work on restocking to ensure they are well-equipped with water in the event a drought crisis emanates.
