Siaya senator Oburu Oginga on Sunday dared ODM rebel MPs to resign from the party and seek re-election if they felt they were popular enough.

Speaking during the homecoming ceremony of Sakwa Ward MCA Tabu Osewe in Bondo constituency on Sunday, Oburu said: "I have issues with the ones who had been saying that they have no fear going for a by–election but I wonder why they had taken ODM party to court for expelling them."

Oburu's statement was echoed by various Luo leaders who were present during the function.

Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko on his part wants ODM leader Raila Odinga to stick with the decision of expelling rebel MPs from the party.

Ayacko also regretted that the very MPs who were forgiven following their alleged engagement with Kenya Kwanza administration are the same MPs who were in Kakamega yesterday on Sunday.

Siaya Governor James Orengo said: "It's unfortunate that Siaya County has the highest number of rebels."

Orengo called upon Nyanza's top leaders not to accept rebel MPs to continue disrespecting Raila.

Raila said rebel MPs should be ignored.
