Court to hear Jomo Kenyatta's firearm license case
The high court sitting in Milimani is set to hear a case in which the government was barred from revoking former President Uhuru Kenyatta's son's firearm license.
The court issued the order in July this year following a Petition filed by Jomo Kenyatta.
Jomo, in his court papers, argued his constitutional rights will be violated unless his case is heard urgently. Those sued are the chief licensing officer, the firearms licensing board, and the Attorney General.
Guilty woman in bhang case to be sentenced next month
A woman who pleaded guilty to being in possession of bhang worth Sh2000 in court premises will be sentenced on October 9.
When Martha Muthoni was arraigned before the Thika law courts on Tuesday, she begged Kiambu County Chief Magistrate Stella Atambo for forgiveness saying she was tempted to sell in courts as potential clients could be found there.
She defended herself saying the economy was at an all-time high and she had to fend for her family.
Muthoni was arrested with 20 rolls of bhang valued at Sh2000.
Police said she was selling to criminal suspects at Thika law court cells as they awaited to be arraigned in court.
She was then charged with the offence of trafficking narcotic drugs contrary to section 4(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Control Act No. 4 of 2022.
