A 40-year-old woman died in a fight with her former boyfriend over a television set in a village in Meru County.

The former boyfriend smashed the woman’s head after she allegedly tried to break into his house in Muringombugi village, police said.

The man claimed the deceased went to his house armed with a stone and started to remove a television set, welding machine, and grinder to sell them.

This prompted a fight between the two that left the woman with serious injuries in the head.

The man later reported the matter before arriving at the house where they found the woman with serious head injuries.

The suspect was detained after the Tuesday morning incident.

10 arrested over suspicious photography 

Police on Sunday arrested at least ten people who were accused of taking photos in malls.

Some were arrested at the GTC Mall while others were at a poolside within a restaurant at the GTC taking photos including selfies.

They were escorted to Parklands police station for questioning before being released.

Police were also called to the nearby Westgate Mall where they detained other visitors who were taking photos. Some of them were foreigners.

Woman found dead in a lodging 

Detectives are investigating an incident in which the body of a woman was found in a lodging in Emali, Makueni.

The body was found in one of the rooms of a lodging in the area on Tuesday.

A suspected assailant who had spent the night with the woman was missing then, police and the lodging management said.

Police said they were called and informed the management.

It is suspected she was strangled after an argument. But the assailant is yet to be arrested, police said.

Car dealer arrested with cocaine

A Kenyan national was arrested with four kilograms of cocaine, estimated to be worth around Sh24 million at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, Sir Lanka.

The man who is a car dealer had arrived from Ethiopia on Sunday, September 24 when he was intercepted.

Local officials and media said the suspect had travelled from Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa to Doha in Qatar and had then boarded a Qatar Airways flight bound for Sri Lanka. 

The 26-year-old Kenyan was arrested at the arrival terminal by officials of the Sri Lanka Customs narcotics control unit.

He took to the X on Monday to claim innocence.

Man arrested for forcing himself onto the wrong plane 

There was drama at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport when a late passenger forced himself into the wrong plane.

The 34-year-old man was arrested for entering a restricted area on Friday night ahead of the planned arraignment.

He was headed for Mombasa at about 9 pm but arrived late.

He tried to plead with staff at the Terminal 1D but they turned a deaf ear on him.

According to Kenya Airports Authority officials an angry passenger forced himself through the gate at Terminal 1 D.

By then, the gates to the Kenya Airways flight he was to board had closed.
