Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management CS Moses Kuria has highlighted key deliverables he's keen on achieving in the new docket.

In a statement on Saturday, Kuria spelt out eight objectives he said he will work towards as he settles down in the Public Service ministry.

The CS took over the docket from CS Aisha Jumwa following a mini Cabinet reshuffle by President William Ruto on October 14.

Kuria previous held the Investments, Trade and Industry Ministry.

According to Kuria, he plans to make the government accountable to the people through Wajibika Town Hall forums which will be held with all ministries across all 47 counties.

He said he will also share with the public results of how the over 90,000 public servants will have performed on a monthly basis.

"We will roll out a digital tool for tracking performance contracts, projects delivery and execution and individual staff performance for all 90,000+ public servants," he said.

"We will implement a digital Ombudsman tool to be known as Pasha for the public to report all cases for denial of or poor services by national and county government institutions and avail all such incidents for public and media scrutiny."

Kuria said he plans to transform the National Youth Service into a mandatory leadership college for all who want to work in public service and the disciplined forces.

He said he will also make NYS the contractor of choice for the national and county governments, as well as private sector locally and abroad.

The CS said NYS will recruit at least 100,000 youth every year and create and at least 1 million indirect jobs.

"We will make Kenya a thought leader in governance by converting the Kenya School of Government into the African School of Government while taking lead in emerging issues such as Strategic peace, security and defence, climate action and Green finance, African integration, Democracy and Human rights," Kuria said.

He also promised to modernise public service by replacing retiring officials with young Kenyans.

The CS said every Kenyan, irrespective of social, economic or political status, will get a chance to work for the government through a digital, transparent and verifiable hiring tool.

He also noted that he seeks to expand the current Huduma Network to all parts of the country and the services to accommodate all government processes available online.

Kuria also vowed to undertake radical reforms in state corporations and state owned enterprises to cut down on wastage and overburdening the taxpayers.
