Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has sent a message to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta as he celebrates his 62nd birthday.
He asked the former President to forgive President William Ruto and move on.
In a statement, Ngunyi wished Uhuru well and urged him not to hold grudges.
"Happy Birthday My Fren Uhuru Kenyatta. And remember, "...Silence annoys even the devil." Keep the silence, but reconcile with William Ruto. Do not grow old nursing a grudge," he said.
Ngunyi acknowledged that President Ruto won the 2022 general election.
"This man beat us at our game. And it is, what it is."
Ahead of the 2022 presidential elections, Ruto had a fallout with his predecessor and had to battle veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga who had teamed up with his former boss.
Ruto blamed the 2018 handshake that happened in 2018 between Uhuru and Raila.
The President has on several occasions lamented how he was sidelined after the handshake.
The woes between the two leaders deepened when Uhuru publicly declared his support for Raila in the 2022 election.
Uhuru warned Kenyans against voting in the current regime saying they will plunge down the country.
However, Ruto seemingly proved the opposition wrong after winning the election.
Ruto and Uhuru have not been seen together in public since he(Ruto) took over the office as the President of the country.
On Thursday, Kenyans recognised and wished Uhuru well as he celebrated his birthday.
Gatundu market traders and some Kenyans publicly showed their affection for Uhuru by baking and cutting a cake to celebrate the former head of state.
Uhuru thanked Kenyans for the heartwarming messages on his birthday.
The former President who spoke during a hearty conversation with Kameme FM presenter Muthoni Wa Kirumba said he is grateful to be turning a year older.
Uhuru thanked the presenter and all who remembered him on his special day, as he also prayed that they live many years and lead healthy lives.
"I am grateful, am grateful you have remembered me, may God also bless you the way you have prayed for me. I pray you live many years and have good health. Even all your listeners, I make the same prayers for them. I don’t have anything to say," the former head of state said.
