PS Belio Kipsang visited Arap Moi Primary School and the site where 5 KCPE candidates drowned after boat capsized in Uasin Gishu County.
Kipsang said the matter was now under investigations and would proceed as per the law.
"We are saddened by the incident and pray for the affecfed families along with the other pupils sitting for exams at the school," Kipsang said.
He said one candidate who survived the accident had been discharged from hospital and was taking exams.
Uasin Gishu county police commander Benjamin Mwanthi at the same time confirmed that two directors of the amazement park where the accident occurred had been arrested.
The two who are a man and his wife are due to be charged in court.
Kipsang said children at Arap Moi school had undergone counselling following the incident and were now going on with the exams.
"We will do everything possible to support the children so that they undertake their exams despite effects of the unfortunate incident," Kipsang said.
He said exams had begun well in all schools in the region.
The PS also said he had also met with the region security teams in the region to ensure exams run smoothly.
"We had some little delays in areas where rains are taking place but reports we have indicate we had no major incidents as the exams started," Kipsang said.
He said the multi agency team in Uasin Gishu would work round the clock to handle the matter at the school affected by the accident.
Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations (KCPE) and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) will run from October 30 to November 24.
About 1.4 million are KCPE candidates, with 1.2 million KAPSEA candidates while 903,260 will sit for the KCSE exams. The pupils had ventured to the park as part of preparations for the exams.
