Tragedy struck a nursery school in the city when a six-year-old boy fell and died while playing on a seesaw at the institution.

The boy was with other pupils when he lost balance and fell off, police and teachers said.

He was hit by the seesaw on the right side of the head sustaining serious injuries.

He was rushed to the nearby St Teresa Dispensary while bleeding where he succumbed while being attended to.

Police said the parents of the child were later informed of the tragedy.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy drowned in an accident in a seasonal river in Ntulele, Narok.

The boy was in the company of other children in Enoolpopong in Ongata Naado sub-location on a swimming spree at the Kordai seasonal river when he drowned.

The body was later retrieved and taken to the local mortuary pending autopsy.

Police said the incident happened on Sunday.

Elsewhere, a man succumbed to injuries after an assault in a village in Nyamira.

Police said George Maoga, 45, was assaulted by a relative in a quarrel and succumbed days later.

The police were tracing the suspect behind the incident.

A police officer collapsed and died in an incident in Port Victoria, Busia County.

Police said Constable George Mutua collapsed in his house and died.

Police said the deceased developed hiccups and collapsed.

He was in the company of his two colleagues in the Saturday incident.

Police said there was foam oozing from his mouth at the time of the incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy to establish the cause of the incident.
