Police are investigating four cases of drowning that were separately reported in Makueni, Nyeri, Kakamega and Muranga counties.
The incidents claimed five lives including two minors.
The first incident was reported in Kibwezi where two children aged ten and seven drowned in a reservoir of river Thange in Wandei village.
The two boys were siblings on a swimming expedition on October 31 when they drowned, police said.
The bodies were retrieved and moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
In Rirungu, Nyeri, the body of one Simon Wanjohi, 50 was found floating in River Sagana after suspected drowning.
The man went missing on October 27 before the body was discovered three days later.
Police suspect he was murdered and thrown into the water to make it look like drowning.
The deceased's body had some injuries on the head. The body was moved to the mortuary.
In Kabati, Muranga county, the body of a man was found floating on Mutoho River within the Karugia area.
The body was not immediately identified as the victim did not have identification documents, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
In Kakamega’s Iguhu area, a 35-year-old man was found dead in stagnant water after a suspected drowning.
Police said Benson Lukulu’s body was found in an abandoned man-made mining hole that was full of water.
The incidents are under probe, police said. Police suspect some of the reported cases are murder staged as drowning.
And a 58-year-old man was found dead in his bed in a village in Nyeri. The cause of the death of one Peter Nderi Kinyanjui is yet to be unravelled, police said.
In Mikindani, Mombasa, one Robert Mwakio Mwadilo, 46 was found dead in his bed.
Police said they are yet to establish the cause of the death. The body was moved to the mortuary.
And in Keumbu, Kisii county, a man was found dead in a toilet. The body was found in the toilet long after he had died.
The man who was a potter in the township told his colleagues he was going for a call of nature and delayed coming back.
When his colleagues went to check on him they found him unresponsive.
His body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
