President William Ruto on Thursday reaffirmed his commitment to end corruption in his government.

Ruto said the vice has no place in his administration adding that all corruption cases are going to be dealt with ruthlessly, with finality and expeditiously.

Corruption, wastage, inefficiency and negligence, Ruto said, are serious threats to the transformation agenda.

"I have given my firm assurance to the people of Kenya that cases of misconduct and corruption shall be dealt with finality," he said.

Ruto made the remarks during his first State of the Nation address in parliament on Thursday.

He also called on the MPs to fast-track the approval of the Assets and recovery and conflict of interest bill.

This, he said, will tighten the anticorruption policy framework and eliminate space for those preying on the taxpayers’ money.
