Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has praised President William Ruto for being a good listener.
Speaking on Wednesday night at Citizen’s JKL show, CS Kuria said that Kenya has never had a more consultative president like Ruto.
“As a country, we are not fair to him because I have never seen such a person who puts in so many hours listening and he listens from the superior people to the least,” he said.
This was the first time that the controversial CS was speaking glowingly about his boss weeks after he was moved from the Trade and Industry docket.
There had been speculations that perhaps the CS could have fallen out with the Head of State, resulting in the shake-up.
The CS's critics had claimed that his transfer to the current portfolio was a demotion given that the public service docket does not involve a lot of field assignments.
The Trade docket was seen as plum and influential as it also involved working with development partners and traversing the world for investors.
On Wednesday, Kuria appeared to praise the president's leadership style terming it consultative and accomodating.
At the same time, Kuria reavealed that the President abhors laziness and works with leaders who are hardworking and focused.
Kuria mentioned that Ruto likes people who are resilient as it has worked for him severally.
He said the President accommodates leaders who think differently and bring about wider perspectives when working with him.
''Be resilient, and if you want to be the enemy of the President just be a yes man," Kuria said.
He stated that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is his good friend contrary to what critics have been claiming.
Kuria applauded Gachagua for doing his role so well as a deputy and they got along well.
"The deputy president, who is also my boss is my good friend and we get along so well, our cabinet is so efficient because of him," he said.
"Credits to Riggy G."
