A day after Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, announced that he would seek to dethrone President William Ruto in 2027, Tourism CS Alfred Mutua has said no one will dislodge Ruto in the polls.
Mutua said Ruto is unbeatable and advised the Kamba community to rally behind his re-election in 2027.
He said President Ruto would easily defend his seat and complete his two terms.
Speaking in Machakos on Sunday, Kalonzo said he would be the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate and would leverage support from other Azimio co-principals including Raila to beat Ruto and emerge victorious in 2027 polls.
"I want to confirm to you that we have water-tight plans and come 2027 Presided William Ruto will reclaim the presidency without much ado,” the CS said.
“Let me be frank with you, some of the names being touted cannot make it. If Raila Odinga who is a political giant was beaten, who else will beat President Ruto?”
The Toursim CS had earlier led Kitui residents including Deputy Governor, Augustine Kanani, in planting trees at Mbitini Hills.
He was also accompanied by county commissioner Erastus Mbui and Kitui Water CEC Peter Nkunda.
Mutua kicked off the exercise to plant 10,000 trees in Kitui to mark the inaugural National Tree Growing Day.
The CS underscored the importance of plating and growing trees as they held the key to securing the future of humanity in the face of the negative impact of climate change.
Kanani said the county government of Kitui would gazette the Mbitini hills where the tree planting occasion took place as a forest reserve so that it could be policed for protection against illegal logging.
