An aide to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja who had been missing for days after an alleged abduction has appeared in public.

Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi came out in public with the former South C Member of County Assembly Osman Khalif who claimed he was tortured while in captivity.

He had been allegedly abducted by unknown people outside a mall and held for eight days.

According to sources who sought anonymity, Osman was released last week on Friday, November 17, seven days after the incident.

Osman has kept a low profile since then and he has not come out to speak of his abduction.

On Wednesday, Ahmednasir claimed it was the police who abducted him.

“Mr Osman, the former MCA for South C, was abducted by policemen under the command of a powerful politician two weeks ago. Osman visited me in my law chambers today and narrated his heart-wrenching ordeal,” Ahmednasir claimed.

“They held him for 8 days and tortured him brutally. Apparently, this powerful politician has special policemen from his tribe under his command and are independent of the normal police command structure,” he said in a post on X on Wednesday as he posed a photo with him.

“This is a very worrying trend and President Ruto must come openly and address this troublesome event...”

Ahmednasir said Osman's case must be independently investigated and his abductors brought to book.

Police have denied the claims.

Nairobi regional head of DCI Peter Njeru had appeared in court as earlier directed by Justice Chacha Mwita over the alleged abduction of Osman.

Njeru told the court that on November 10, at 1900hrs, a report of Osman’s alleged abduction was made by the wife, Yasmin at Parklands police station.

Yasmin made an OB entry and reported that her missing husband was bungled into a Toyota pickup, silver in color.
