Search for eight people who were on Thursday night swept by floods after the Muuoni River in Emali, Makueni County broke its banks is ongoing.

The seven were attempting to cross the swollen river when they were swept away.

Kavuthu Chief Norman Musyoki said the seven were crossing from Kavuthu to Mutyambua when the tragedy happened.

They unsuccessfully tried to clinch on a tree in the middle of the river that was stuck at the bridge. 

EAC  meeting in Arush to address Somali's entry bid

Heads of state from the seven East African Community (EAC) member states will today converge in Arusha, Tanzania for the 23rd ordinary summit with Somalia’s bid to join the bloc expected to form part of the agenda.

President William Ruto is among the heads attending the meeting.

Somalia has been pushing to have it admitted into the regional bloc for close to a decade now with country’s security threat being the main hindrance.

Last day of KCSE

Form Four candidates are set to sit the final paper in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education on Friday. The exams started on October 23.

The last paper the candidates will be sitting for is Physics Paper 3 which is purely practical.

Pre-COP28 meeting to be held in Nairobi 

The Office of The First Lady, through Mama Doing Good and GROOTS Kenya, have a Pre-COP28 Meeting.

GROOTS is a national movement of grassroots women-led community-based organisations and self-help groups.

It was founded in 1995 - GK has now over 3500 grassroots organizations.

The event will focus on the urgency of a Women-Led Climate Adaptation Plan at Sarova Panafric Hotel from 8 am.
