Kenya Medical Research Institute

The Kenya Medical Research Institute is seeking to hire a Director General or a Chief Executive Officer to oversee its operations. 

In a digital card, Kemri noted that the director general reports direct to the Board of Directors.

The Director General shall hold office for a period of 3 years and be eligible for reappointment for a further term of three years.

In the card, for one to apply, they should log in to Deloitte e-recruitment platform via http://apply workable.com.deloitte-east Africa.

Kemri notes that if one is interested in the role, they should submit their applications electronically including the cover letter

"Resume clearly articulating your accomplishments, and contact information for at least three professional referees who can comment on your competence, character and integrity." 

KEMRI will offer to the successful candidate a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the role.

To be considered, one's application must be submitted through the e-recruitment portal link and received no later than 11:59 pm, December 15, 2023.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Kemri is a State Corporation established pursuant to the Science Technology and Innovation Act 2013 as read together with the Kenya Medical Research Institute Order 2021.

It is the national body responsible for carrying out research in human health in Kenya.

The institute currently ranks as one of the leading Centres of Excellence in health research both in Africa as well as globally.

It provides advice to the Ministry on various aspects of healthcare and delivery, national disease surveillance and rapid response capacity for major disease outbreaks such as Cholera, Chikungunya Virus, HINI Flu, Yellow Fever, Rift Valley Fever, Ebola, Aflatoxicosis.
