Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has once again dismissed claims of a tiff between him and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Mudavadi said the Executive Order is very specific that his role is to assist the President and the Deputy President

“Some people are trying to create something where there is nothing, trying to create a conflict where there is none,” he said.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Mudavadi reiterated that he understands the role of the Deputy President and that of the President as well.

“I also know how to manage my role as the Prime Cabinet Secretary. The issue of conflict or competition is neither here nor there,” he said.

Mudavadi added that he has been ignoring the claims of a strained relationship between the DP and him every time they emerge.

“I have heard of it and ignored it. As far as I am concerned, it is a non-issue,” he stated.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary pointed out that he receives instructions from both the President and the Deputy President.

“Instructions from the President can be verbal or written. The President can call and say I want you to do something for me.  I have also received instructions from the Deputy President. He has asked me to handle certain meetings for him or to get certain engagements carried out on his behalf,” he said.

It is not the first time Mudavadi dismissed claims of a silent war between him and the DP.

In January, Mudavadi termed the claims as an imagination in the wrong direction.

“Do you see any injuries on me? Do you see any scars? Do I look like someone who has been fighting,” he posed.

Mudavadi said he sees his role as complementary to the work of President William Ruto and Rigathi.
