A suspected thug was shot dead in a dramatic botched robbery in the Sunton area, Kasarani, Nairobi.
Police said they recovered a homemade pistol with a 9mm bullet lodged in the chamber, a hunter's knife, and three 7.62mm spent cartridges from the scene of the shooting.
The incident happened Sunday morning after an alarm was raised at a robbery scene.
According to police, two armed robbers had attacked a bodaboda rider who was on his way to Mwisho was Lami area prompting a fight.

The rider died on the spot while the passengers were admitted to hospital.
The injured were taken to the St Joseph Nyasiongo Mission Hospital for attention.
Police are investigating the incident.
The body was moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations, police said.

In Kericho, one person was killed in an accident along Litein -Kericho road in the Chebawon area.
Three other people were injured in the accident, police said.
On the same road, a rider veered off the road and landed in a ditch.

He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to South Rift Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
