The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority CEO Andrew Mulwa has been confirmed as the winner of the prestigious African Governance Award 2024.

Mulwa was recognised as the "Most outstanding medical supplies authority across Africa".

The 2024 African Governance Conference and Gala Award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Mauritius between February 7 to February 10.

According to a statement by Doctor Baroness Paulette Kporo, Mulwa had been confirmed as a winner after a comprehensive and credible awards selection process.

Kporo is the CEO and chief event organiser from The Business Executive media group who are the organisers of the 2024 African Governance Conference and Awards.

"The process involved your nomination by the African public, authentication of your nomination claims with regards to your conduct, performance and impact by our dedicated research consultants, and ultimately an expert assessment of same compared to the other nominees in your category by our specially constituted international Awards Selection Jury," Kporo said.

"Based on our quantitative scoring model applied by both our consultants and subsequently our Jury of experts, you achieved the highest score amongst the nominees in your category."

The win confirms Mulwa's outstanding contributions to public governance, enhancing Kenya's prominence in Africa's political and socio-economic realm.

It also confirms him to the world as a standard setter for public institutions across the continent.

The event will commence with a one-day pan-African conference on governance, which Mulwa will be required to attend.

The conference will seek to exchange experiences and perspectives on good governance practices with participants and update them on emergent best governance practice concepts.

It will also enable participants to network and form relationships that can enhance the prospects for continental cooperation and integration.

"Kemsa stands as a beacon of standard-setting for public institutions, both locally and internationally, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mulwa and the entire Kemsa family," the authority said in a statement on Friday.

The event will be the largest gathering of top-tier public officials in Africa and exemplary private-sector enterprises, institutions and individuals.

It will also be attended by the international media and public sector and public policy analysts and commentators from all around the world.
