A section of Ukambani leaders have urged Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka to traverse the country and campaign for the presidency.
The politicians said the former vice-president is ripe for the country's top job, insisting that 2027 will be his time.
Speaking during a burial in Machakos County on Sunday, the politicians said they will aggressively campaign for Kalonzo's presidential bid.
They, however, urged that the Wiper leader concentrate on other key regions that could deliver him to the State House.
"Now leave Ukambani for us, go across the country and campaign because 2027 is your time to become the president of this country," Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti said.
The county boss insisted that Kalonzo must not back down again in 2027 because the whole of the Ukambani region will rally behind him to the last man.
"It will be serious business for us in 2027 and that is why we are saying that we must start early,'' she said.
Kalonzo who first ran for president in 2007 on the ODM Kenya ticket is under pressure from his Ukambani backyard to take the second stab.
The region's political leaders have insisted that he must run for the country's job after sacrificing three times for Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
The Wiper leader supported Raila in 2013 and 2017 as running mates; in 2022, he was relegated from the second in command by Narc Kenya boss Martha Karua.
He had been destined to be the country's Chief Minister under a Raila government had Azimio defeated President William Ruto in 2022.
Kalonzo recently announced that he is ready to run for president in 2027 but insisted that he will not be seeking Raila's endorsement.
On Sunday, Machako Senator Agnes Kavindu said 2027 is Kalonzo's time to successfully occupy the State House.
"We are saying as Ukambani leaders that we shall support you to run for president in 2027 because the time has come for you to liberate this country,'' she said.
According to the senator, Kalonzo will have an easy ride to State House because of the Kenya Kwanza failures.
Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene urged the Wiper boss to focus on the 2027 presidential bid.
"The whole of Ukambani region is firmly behind you(Kalonzo), so now go across the country and make that dream a reality,'' she said.
Last year, President Ruto said he was ready to face Kalonzo in 2027, saying he was aware that he would be his main competitor in the next polls.
Kalonzo, who is among the key linchpins in the Azimio coalition, is eyeing the opposition ticket to face Ruto in 2027.
There are, however, mixed signals by Raila amid indications that he is also plotting another run.
This could complicate Kalonzo's dream should Raila decide to go for the country's top job.
Kalonzo has convened one of its party’s top decision-making organs to among others lay the ground for his second presidential bid in 2027.
The Star has established that the Wiper National Executive Committee will meet on January 16.
The former Vice President who grudgingly stepped down for Raila in 2022, has declared he will no longer sacrifice his ambition for anyone.
“Everyone in this country knows very well who William Ruto's challenger is and he has made it very clear himself. I am waiting for this endorsement by the party and bring it to fruition. I don’t think the coalition will have a problem,” Kalonzo said during a recent interview.
