Police are investigating a murder and suicide incident in a village in Engineer, Nyadarua County.

This is after the body of a 30-year-old woman was found on the roadside on Thursday afternoon.

The body of Asumpta Wanjiru Murunga was found with no visible injuries a day after that of her estranged husband was found in the same area after suicide.

The deceased woman is suspected to have been murdered by her husband Henry Muiruri Mwaura aged 32 before committing suicide on January 16.

Locals said the two had been having domestic issues which are suspected to have led to the double tragedy.

In another incident, police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in the Indian Ocean in the Kijipwa area.

The lifeless body was discovered along the shores of the Indian Ocean within Vipingo Beach, police said.

Police officers visited the scene and with the help of the public managed to retrieve the decomposed body.

The body was moved to Kilifi mortuary for identification and autopsy.

It is suspected the man was either killed and dumped into the water or drowned, police said.

Police want those whose friends and relatives are missing to visit the mortuary to help in investigations.
