Some 20 boda boda riders arrested in Kitengelea for allegedly assaulting a female motorist on Thursday last week are set to appear in court.

Waeni murder probe 

Police are now investigating claims of occultism in the gruesome murder of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology student Rita Waeni.

This is even as police on Sunday recovered a human head in Kiambu believed to be Waeni's.

Raila begins Coast tour 

ODM leader Raila Odinga begins his Coast region mobilisation exercise in Lamu today.

His tours started in Nyanza before moving to Western and now the Coast.

Savula's graft case 

Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula will today return to court for directions in a case where he is charged with theft of Sh122 million government cash meant for paying advertisers.

The case was adjourned in November last year to allow Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Igonga to review charges.

The prosecution told trial magistrate Lucas Onyina that some of the accused persons wrote to the DPP requesting a review of the charges and upon review of the request, the DPP noted that there are new and compelling reasons that are new to the case.

Garissa University terror attack case 

A case in which parents of the Garissa terrorist attack victims have sued the government seeking to have the Attorney General advise the President to set up a ministry of state in charge of anti-terrorism proceeds for hearing today.

AFCON: Final round of group-stage matches starts

Africa Cup of Nations 2023 have reached the final stage of their group-stage matches.

Eight African teams will be in action and play to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition. AFCON 2023 hosts Ivory Coast are in a tough situation and need to win their match.

Blinken starts six-day tour of Africa 

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has embarked on a six-day tour of Africa.

He is set to visit Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Angola from January 21-26.

Blinken will hold talks with leaders from these nations focused on regional security, conflict prevention, democracy promotion and trade.
