Citizen TV's journalist Hassan Mugambi is set to leave Royal Media Services (RMS) to take up a role at the Ministry of Defence.
According to an undisclosed source who spoke to The Star, the crime and investigative journalist is currently serving notice ahead of his departure.
Mugambi will replace long long-serving Director of Communications at the ministry Bogita Ongeri who has retired after attaining the mandatory age.
Upon leaving Citizen TV, the anchor will assume the role of the communication adviser at Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale's office.
Mugambi is said to have been accompanying Duale on some trips including the recent one to the United States of America (USA).
The investigative journalist confirmed the move saying a change is as good as a rest.
"Change is as good as a rest. We are changing," he said.
Mugambi joined RMS in 2015 after serving as a news anchor at K24, which is owned by Mediamax Network Limited.
At Citizen TV, he rose over the ranks from a reporter to a Swahili news anchor.
He anchored news shows including Sema na Citizen alongside Lulu Hassan on Fridays.
Among those who have left the station included senior political reporter Chemutai Goin.
Goin said that her exit from the Royal Media Services (RMS) owned station, is a bittersweet moment.
In a video seen by the Star, Goin who spoke during a farewell party organised by colleagues at Citizen TV offices said that it is at the station where she got to be her best as a political reporter.
She stated that she intends to remain at the top, even as she moves on to something else.
"We've worked with so many people across different departments so it was nice.
"Leaving for me is bittersweet because this is where I had my wings and I went to the eagles and I think that is where I will stay and even as we go to other ventures, we will still find each other," Goin said.
Reports say that she is set to take up a new role at the National Assembly of Kenya.
Other notable, journalists who have left the station include Sam Ogina, Raquel Mungai and Francis Gachuri.
