Cabinet Secretaries Kithure Kindiki (Interior), Mithika Linturi (Agriculture) and Zacharia Njeru (Water) are scheduled to appear before the Senate plenary.
The trio will appear to respond to questions from members.
Kindiki is expected to provide a status update on investigations into the inter-communal clashes that occurred in Sondu town, which lies in the border region of Kericho and Kisumu counties, during the demonstrations in June and July last year.
He will also describe the progress the government has made in the disarmament of armed groups in the town.
The questions are from Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.
Abiy Ahmed's state visit
President William Ruto will today host visiting Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed at Statehouse, Nairobi.
Ahmed arrived in the country Tuesday evening.
The two will later hold a joint press briefing.
Police probe murder of officer
Detectives have opened a probe into the killing of a prison warden in Kitale by a police officer.
The motive of the attack is yet to be known but the two are said to have argued in a liquor joint.
Embakais gas explosion case
Suspects in the case are set to appear in court today following the lapse of 21 days of detention.
They were detained on February 7, after the prosecution requested more time to complete investigations on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, negligent act and abuse of office.
The plant owner Derrick Kimathi and, NEMA officials Joseph Makau and Marrian Kioko were detained at Embakasi Police Station.
