Women have been urged to observe network creation to prosper in the economic space.

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, Lucy Mathenge, a governance specialist at UN Women-Kenya emphasized that creating a network goes a long way which eventually becomes a force.

“Men beat women when it comes to creating networks as they go way ahead in forming small network groups such as the boys' club," she said.

“As women, we should also form career clubs and businesses which will turn out to be moving forces.”

Mentorship was also pointed out as a unique tool that women can use to rise in the economic field.

Mathenge said women should walk the journey to break barriers with other women.

Giving an example of women leaders in Parliament, she stated that they mentor each other.

“Hand holding is a journey that women should embrace. Women should embrace mentoring one another to break barriers,” Mathenge added.

Women have also been urged to use data as backup in their various fields of work.

Mathenge argued that when one presents ideas using data, it not only gives evidence but also stands out as a unique tool which will eventually boost women.

The women’s summit by RAG brought women with occupations, who came together to get more knowledge on economic empowerment.

This year’s theme, “Banking on the Future of Women,” emphasized the importance of women investing in each other in a time-sensitive world

The summit aimed to equip women with tools, resources, and opportunities for economic empowerment and financial independence.
