Former Information Communication Technology (ICT) Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has lost his mother.
Mucheru announced his mother's demise via X, formerly Twitter, without giving details.
"Goodbye, mum. We miss you, Madam!" he wrote.
Following the announcement, leaders and media personalities led by former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo sent messages of condolences.
"Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you and your family Waziri. May our Lord God rest her soul in eternal peace,” Kabogo said.
Ouma Oluga, a household name following his term at Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists' Union (KMPDU) also condoled with Mucheru. "Pole sana waziri," Oluga said.
Tetu Member of Parliament Geoffrey Wandeto also condoled with the family.
Mucheru who served in the previous regime has kept a low profile since former President Uhuru Kenyatta retired.
Mucheru was appointed as the President of Jumo, a UK technology firm in January 2023.
Mucheru's mother's death came months after that of his younger sister.
Njeri Rionge, a renowned tech geek, died in October 2023.
"Goodbye Njeri. We will miss you greatly," Mucheru mourned.
