The University of Manchester on Monday honoured Professorship in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health to the Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Manoah Esipisu.

Manoah received the award due to his contribution to building a strong partnership for research on oesophagal cancer between the University of Manchester, Kenyatta National Hospital and other Kenyan hospital schools.

Earlier Manoah was feted as the Diplomat of the Year 2024, from Africa.

He was feted alongside nine other influential diplomats, all based in the United Kingdom.

"The Award underlined recognition of Kenya's work in building strong bilateral relations and leadership on global issues," Esipisu said.

As he marked his final day in office on Monday, Esipisu said he worked with amazing staff members and had great moments as High Commissioner.

Esipisu bid farewell to the famous No 45 Portland Place London, Great staff, Great moments, A fine Innings.

"Thanks to President William Ruto for retaining me in the post and grateful for the opportunity to serve the government in diplomacy and communication, "Manoah said.

The awards recognise the outstanding work and achievements of London’s diplomatic community who are trying to better their nations’ well-being.
