Detectives are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found on the roadside in Mwatate, Taita Taveta.
His body was discovered Wednesday along the Mwatate-Taveta road and in a pool of blood.
The deceased was identified as Alfred Mwanyalo Mwandoe, 38.
The body had multiple deep cuts in the forehead.
Police said the man was killed on the main road and his body was dragged to the scene where it was found.
The motive of the incident is yet to be known. The body was moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In Muhoroni area, Kisumu, the body of Joseph Otieno was found on the Chemilili-Muhoroni railways line.
Police said the man died out of a fight with a local man over a suspected love triangle.
The assailant reportedly used a panga to attack the deceased in the left side of his head leaving him dead.
According to police, the assailant escaped the scene and efforts to arrest him over the Wednesday murder are ongoing.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy, Nyanza police boss Patrick Tito said.
Elsewhere in Katulani area, Kitui, the body of a 62-year-old woman was found outside her fence after murder.
Police said they were informed Lucy Kambua Mwendwa was lying in a pool of blood after the murder.
She had two stab wounds on the back of her head and blood was oozing through the mouth.
Police said they found the murder weapon- a panga- with blood stains on the tip, a water jug light blue, a paper bag with a broken egg and a note with an empty cup of light blue
Police said they had arrested six suspects in connection with the murder of the woman.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Police said they are looking for more suspects in the murder.
