Bungoma and South Korea will join hands to strengthen and expand Vocational Training Centres through an exchange programme that will drive innovation and research.

The cooperation secured by Governor Kenneth Lusaka and South Korea’s Jeollanam-Do Office of Education Minister Kim Dae Jung will seek to enhance skill development at VTCs.

The partnership will go a long way in equipping young people both in Bungoma and South Korea with essential skills in ICT, green technologies and sustainable construction practices.

To cement the agreement, South Korea handed the Bungoma delegation 4,000 pieces of ECDE furniture that will boost the country's efforts in providing a conducive environment for young learners across the centres.

"This partnership that we have secured will transform the learning experience of our young learners in Bungoma and our young men and women in our VTCs. We are grateful,” said Lusaka.

Bungoma has a longstanding partnership with South Korea, actively supporting the county in the provision of clean and safe water for close to 200,000 residents through Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) I, KOICA II and now soon-to-be-launched KOICA III.
