Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology closed after student unrest

The principal said the college will be out of bounds for all students till further notice.

Learning at Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology has been suspended after the institution was closed indefinitely on Friday. 

The institution located in Nakuru was closed following unrest witnessed on the night of Thursday, June 6,  2024, and the morning of Friday, June 7. 

In a memo sent to the learners, the Principal Sammy Chemoiwa noted that it had become apparent that normal classes cannot be conducted due to the unconducive environment.

"It is therefore decided that the college programs shall be suspended indefinitely all students are ordered to vacate the college compound by 12:30 pm," the memo read in part. 

Chemoiwa said the college will be out of bounds for all students till further notice.

The students will be advised on when to resume their studies, he said.
