Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has explained to President William Ruto why he arrived at an event in Nakuru about one hour after him.

Gachagua arrived at the Annual Akorino Conference after the President had arrived and the service was underway.

When it was his turn to address the gathering, the DP first apologised for his lateness before making his remarks.

“Mr President, first of all, I want to ask for forgiveness from you for coming late. I am not an indisciplined person. I was a uniformed officer and in your government, I am the most disciplined person,” he said.

Gachagua went on to state that he had problems with his transport arrangements adding that the weather was also not favourable.

“I delayed to leave and I was stuck between Longonot and Naivasha for almost two hours before I could get here,” he added.

Gachagua arrived at the event as Akorino leaders were praying for the President, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika by his side.

The governor was forced to move to another seat for the DP to be next to the President.
