The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has opened its portal to allow applications for KMTC September intake.

The application deadline is June 21, 2024.

KUCCPS said the application targets qualified KCSE holders from 2014 to 2023 who wish to enrol in KMTC programmes.

" This includes those who applied previously but were not successful," KUCCPS said. To apply, one is to access the student's portal using the link  students.kuccps.net or through the KUCCPS website www.kuccps.ac.ke.

The student then clicks the Login tab and inputs their KCSE Index Number, KCSE year and Password in the provided slots." Your password is your Birth Certificate Number or Your KCPE Index Number," the Placement Service said.

Once logged in, the student will click “KMTC Programmes” to view available courses and their minimum requirements.

Applicants will only be able to apply for courses where they meet minimum requirements.

KUCCPS urged students to download the PDF document containing the details of the available programmes for ease of reference.

"Once you have decided on your preferred courses, you will be required to enter the Programme Codes," KUCCPS said.

The student will then click the “KMTC Application” tab and then “Apply Now”.

The student will enter the Programme Codes in the provided form.

KUCCPS said that applicants should arrange the programme codes in order of priority.

"From your most preferred course (No. 1) to your least preferred course (No. 4)," the Placement Service said.

After entering the programme codes for all the courses a student may want, KUCCPS said the applicant should allow the system to fetch all the programme details before clicking submit.

On submitting, the applicant will be required to pay Sh1,500 and the portal will display the payment instructions.

Payment Procedure

KUCCPS noted that unsuccessful applicants from the last KMTC application need not pay again but should use the previous Payment Reference Code to apply.

For those applying for the first time, once they click the Submit button in the online application form, a pop-up will be displayed with a “Click Here to Pay” link.

" If you have already paid, enter the Payment Reference Code generated by eCitizen," KUCCPS said.

The applicant will click on the link and they will be redirected to a page with eCitizen payment instructions.

They will then choose a preferred payment method from the provided options and proceed to pay as provided.

"For M-PESA, click on the relevant button and the payment details will be displayed including Business Number (222222), a Payment Reference Code and the required amount," KUCCPS said.

Students are to use the M-Pesa Menu on their phone and make the payment following the provided instructions.

Once paid, the applicant will go back to the application window and use the eCitizen Payment Reference Code to submit their application.

KUCCPS said applicants should not use the MPESA transaction code.

" The same Ref. Code will be required for any subsequent changes to your application; hence, you are advised to retain it," KUCCPS said.

After an applicant has successfully paid and submitted, the system will display a message indicating that the application was successful.

On the Dashboard, the applicant will see their successful application.
