Nigeria President Bola Tinubu stumbled and fell on Wednesday as he boarded his ceremonial parade car at Eagle Square in Abuja.

Tinubu, was at the stadium for the Democracy Day celebrations.

He appeared to miss a step as he was about to enter the vehicle designated for the ceremonial inspection of the parade when he fell.

His security officers and aides, however, rushed quickly to his aid, helping him to his feet.

A video clip seen by the Star, showed the head of state unshaken after the incident as he waved to the crowd and proceeded with the day's events, displaying resilience and composure.

While confirming the incident, the President's special assistant Dada Olusegun termed it a minor incident.

“Mr President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues,” he wrote on his X page.

The Democracy Day celebration is a significant day in Nigeria, to commemorate the restoration of democracy on June 12, 1993.
