Cancer management has been allocated Ksh 1.1 billion in the Financial Year 2024/25.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung'u said this has been allocated in a bid to enhance the early diagnosis and management of cancer in Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and Kisii Level 5 Hospital.

He further provided a sum of Sh2 billion towards the emergencies and chronic and critical illness fund.

CS Ndung'u said that this will help reduce the burden of treatment among Kenyans.

He further said that to improve health service delivery he has allocated a further Sh29.7 billion to Kenyatta National Hospital and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

"This includes Sh2.6 billion for the construction of the KNH  paediatric centre,  Sh5.2 billion for the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency, Sh2.5 billion for the Kenya Medical Research Institute, Sh1 billion for procurement of family planning reproductive health commodities and Sh760 million for procurement of equipment at the National blood transfusion services," he outlined.
