Detectives are hunting for a woman wanted over a case of alleged attempted murder in Mihang'o, Kayole in Nairobi.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a statement on Thursday appealed for information on the whereabouts of the woman.

DCI said the 35-year-old woman is a suspect in a case of attempted murder committed on April 22, 2023.

The DCI said the woman allegedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend three times in the chest using a kitchen knife, in a suspected case of love gone sour.

After allegedly committing the heinous attack, she went underground, carefully effacing the track behind her, the DCI said.

"She did not only hole up, but also cut communication with her family, known friends and has since avoided places she previously frequented," the DCI said.

According to the DCI, the Immigration Department confirmed to police that she has not exited the country.

The DCI further said a warrant of arrest was issued against her on May 13, 2024 is in force.

Records of the suspect held at the National Registration Bureau indicate that she hails from Kitui.

Her family availed photos of the woman to the police.

Police said they are also desperate to know the whereabouts of their kin.
