President William Ruto has urged Members of Parliament to pass the Budget 2024-25 to ensure the delivery of services to the citizens. 

Speaking in Meru during the laying of the foundation stone for Meru Maize Millers on Thursday, Ruto stated that it's the only way to make sure the common citizen gets services such as access to electricity.

"Hawa waheshimiwa nataka tafadhali niwahakikishieni tafadhali pitisheni budget haraka hawa wakulima wanahitaji stima," he said

The president also emphasized that in the next financial year, the main focus will be on building roads, electricity connectivity, and water.

"Tayari tumeweka hio mpango kwa budget yetu," he said

He also highlighted the government's effort to ensure that every dairy farmer gets Sh50 per litre starting July this year. 

National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u is expected to read the 2024-25 Financial Year budget at 3 pm, Thursday, at Parliament buildings.

The budget reading will unveil the government's plan for various sectors of the economy.
