Heavy security has been deployed at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu Road ahead of a visit by three activists.
The three, Hanifa Adan, Boniface Mwangi and Hussein Khalid have been at the forefront of anti-Finance Bill protests.
The three have been in hiding following arbitrary arrests of participants and organisers of the anti-Finance Bill protests.
They will be accompanied by former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga.
Mutunga had said he would accompany the three activists to the DCI to record a statement.
"Tomorrow at 11 am I shall accompany Hanifa Adan, Hussein Khalid and Boniface Mwangi to DCI Headquarters on Kiambu Road," Mutunga said.
"Mwangi was almost abducted outside the City Mortuary by DCI on Friday contrary to Art. 238(2)(b) of the Constitution. Join us in solidarity," he said on X.
A contingent of officers was deployed, with no one including journalists being allowed to access the area or take pictures.
Heavily armed anti-riot and plain-clothes officers were seen manning the area.
This comes amid a wave of abductions targeted at those involved in anti-Finance Bill protests.
On Friday social media influencer Billy Simani alias Crazy Nairobian was taken into custody by unknown individuals to an unknown location.
Following massive online protests made by Kenyans on X Billy was released on Saturday evening.
Sunday morning another protester, Austin Omondi alias Japrado was also abducted by unknown men and taken to an unknown location.
Austin was released on Sunday evening following another wave of online protests.
Previously, Attorney General Justin Muturi’s son Leslie was abducted and released.
In addition, Shadrack Kiprono alias Shad Khalif, was abducted by men suspected to be plain-clothes detectives from a shopping centre in Nairobi’s South C area.
Family and friends of Shad Khalif said his whereabouts remain unknown.
