Bound by blood, two siblings were seen shielding each other during Tuesday's Anti-Finance bill protests in Nairobi.

In a video seen by the Star, a brother and a sister are seen clutching onto one another to protect each other from anti-riot police officers.

The brother was heard shouting, "Hatujafanya kitu wrong" which loosely translates to (we have done nothing)

"I was just standing, not talking, and then they came and held us," the sister said in complete solidarity with her kin.

"Kwanza nimeshikwa na machali wawili na wanani-mishandle," she lamented. This translates to I am being held by two men and they are mishandling me.

About four police officers could be seen trying to board the duo into the police truck but the brother, the stronger of the two, was seen trying to stop the efforts.

The brother clinged on to his sister informing the police of the relationship between them.

They could not be separated.

"This is my sister, " he said repeatedly.

"This is my brother," the sister on the other hand.

The duo was able to fight their way against the police officers till they were released.
