Former Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter was Sunday reportedly abducted by some unknown men as he left a church event in the Kileleshwa area, Nairobi.

In a video seen by the Star, armed men in plain clothes were seen pulling a man believed to be the former lawmaker from his Toyota V8 Land Cruiser before driving off in a Ford Ranger Double-cabin.

However, Kilimani police boss Anthony Muturi did not respond to our calls or texts to give clarity on the incident.

His whereabouts were not known after the abduction. The MP and those around the area were heard screaming for help.

The car was later driven away by the same people who abducted him. All were captured on camera.

Keter would later post on his official Facebook Page "Abducted and taken to an unknown destination."

His abduction comes at a time when pressure is mounting on authorities to stop abducting Kenyans opposed to the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Last week, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leadership handed over a report on 39 missing persons from the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

LSK and Azimio said they continue to receive reports from families of people who participated in the protests and cannot be accounted for.

Several people are still nursing injuries in different hospitals across the country even as LSK vows to seek legal redress on behalf of all who have been affected.

On Friday, a Nairobi court was told vocal social media and political activist Gabriel Oguda and 12 others allegedly abducted during the finance bill protests have all been released.
