The Kenya University and Colleges Central Placement Service has announced the closure of Inter-Institutional Transfer (IIT) applications for students set to join higher institutions of learning in September.

KUCCPS opened its portal to allow for the Inter-Institutional Transfers on June 5 to allow interested students to make their applications.

The deadline for the application was July 4.

The process targeted applicants placed in universities and colleges in the 2024/2025 placement cycle who wished to change their institutions.

IIT also allowed students to change courses, provided that the applicant met the applicable cut-off points, subject to endorsement by the receiving institution.

"Both the receiving and releasing institutions are required to endorse your application and you can monitor this through the portal," KUCCPS said.

If the receiving institution declines to endorse the transfer application, the student will be notified through the portal and advised to try a different programme in either the same institution or a different one.

The process will then move to KUCCPS after the endorsements.

Once the transfer request has been approved by KUCCPS, the students will download and print the transfer letter and submit one copy to the institution they are transferring to so that they can issue the admission letter and other joining instructions.

Students applied for Inter-Institutional Transfer by logging in to their KUCCPS portals.
