A section of Kenyan youth are planning to host an X-Space conversation parallel to President William Ruto's.
Soon after Ruto announced he would be engaging Kenyans on X-Space, some youths stated that it was not the President's duty to schedule a conversation, but theirs.
“Yaani we as Gen Z invited President William Ruto to X Space But President William Ruto has gone ahead to schedule an X Space and invite us?” one youth questioned.
Ruto will host his inaugural X-Space Conversation with the youth of Kenya on Friday.
The Cabinet is scheduled to join the Head of State as he hosts the conversation.
“All Kenyans are welcome to contribute to this dialogue as part of our collective effort to foster national renewal and create a better Kenya for all,” a despatch from the Cabinet Office, Executive Office of the President said.
A statement shared by the State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed said the President will engage the youths on the issues raised.
The X Space will take place from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai said, “Logging in, listening and engaging the President is maturity.”
“How do you claim to want to solve the many problems locally if you can’t engage in a platform where you can even ask very hard questions? Join the X Space and ask the President hard questions. Real questions and facts. Be different,” he stated.
X has a platform known as Space where live audio conversations take place.
Anyone can join, listen, and speak in a Space on X for iOS and Android.
One can also listen in a space on the web.
