Police are investigating the murder of a bar attendant in Mathare slums, Nairobi.
The body of 28-year-old Kezia Kigei was found dumped outside a shop in the Kosovo area, hours after her murder.
Police said they have yet to establish the motive behind the incident, which occurred on the evening of Monday, July 8.
The body, which had a swollen neck, was discovered by locals who alerted the authorities.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they suspect the woman was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the site.
She had earlier on Sunday evening left for her place of work in Mathare 4B but failed to return home as anticipated, her family told police.
The body was taken to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
Meanwhile, police are looking for a gang that stabbed and killed a 23-year-old man in a robbery in the Mowlem area, Dandora, Nairobi.
Police said the incident happened on Monday night as Hillary Ouma walked from his house to a nearby shop to buy food.
He was in the company of his girlfriend when two men emerged from a dark alley and demanded cash and mobile phones.
This prompted a brief confrontation before one of the assailants reached out for a knife and stabbed Ouma in the ribs.
Police who visited the scene said the deceased had three stab wounds in the ribs. He was rushed to a nearby clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The assailants had by then escaped. The girlfriend was not injured in the attack.
A team of detectives has since been sent to the area to hunt for the gang behind the murder.
The body is lying at the Mama Lucy Kibaki mortuary pending autopsy.
Elsewhere in Eldoret’s Moiben area, a bodaboda rider was murdered and robbed of his motorcycle.
Police said Peter Kosgei had been hired by two pillion passengers on Sunday afternoon to ferry them to Kapkorio area.
On the way, the two turned out to be thugs and attacked Kosei with a panga that they had.
Police said he sustained injuries in the head as the gang gained control of the motorcycle and rode off.
He was picked up by a good Samaritan and rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police visited the scene and recovered a blood-stained panga and a pair of bloodstained sandals that are linked to the suspects.
No arrest or recovery of the robbed motorcycle have been made so far but police said they are pursuing good leads so far.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
