Mudavadi officially notifies diplomatic partners of Ruto’s action on Cabinet

He assured that operations of government will continue uninterrupted

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has apprised Kenya’s diplomatic and international partners of President William Ruto’s action on his Cabinet.

Mudavadi also apprised the partners of the country's ongoing reforms.

Diplomatic appraisal is part of the Foreign Ministry’s regular official communication and timely updates to ensure cooperation and mutual support from international partners.

Mudavadi notified international partners all Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney General were dismissed from the Cabinet on July 11, 2024, except Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

“This is in line with powers granted to the President under the Constitution, which His Excellency is exercising to restore citizens’ confidence in the integrity of the Cabinet,” Mudavadi noted.

He said the President has kept his assurance of listening and responding to citizens’ needs.

“The progressive reforms our President has embarked on are geared towards a genuine fulfilment of the citizens’ aspirations that were unmistakably expressed in the past weeks,” he stated.

Mudavadi said the President is committed to extending the length and breadth of public participation within the spirit of having a cooperative and diverse governance structure to achieve equity and inclusivity across social status, ages, genders and communities.

He added that the President will be meticulous in ensuring that the nominees he proposes for the Cabinet are individuals of exceptional competence and integrity.

“In the meantime, the President will be engaging in extensive consultations across the board to consolidate a broad-based government. The main objective is to fortify national unity, peace and prosperity while ensuring that the Executive arm of the government is further streamlined to reflect the aspirations of the citizens with our administration's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” he said.

He assured that operations of the government, including diplomatic processes, will continue uninterrupted under the guidance of Principal Secretaries.
