The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority on Sunday announced the reduction of fuel prices in the July review.

The price of super petrol was reduced by Sh1 per litre, diesel by Sh1.50 per litre and kerosene by Sh1.30 per litre.

In its notice, it listed several towns and their maximum pump prices.

In Nairobi, EPRA noted that a litre of super petrol will retail at Sh188.84, with diesel selling at Sh171.60 and kerosene at Sh161.75.

The prices are slightly lower in Mombasa where super petrol will go for Sh185.66, diesel at Sh168.43 and kerosene at sh158.70.

Pump prices in Kisumu do not differ much from Nairobi with petrol, diesel and kerosene retailing at sh188.66, Sh171.81 and Sh162.04 respectively.

In Eldoret, motorists will buy super petrol at Sh188.67, diesel at Sh171.81 and kerosene at Sh162.04.

In Nakuru, super petrol will retail at Sh187.90, diesel at Sh171.04 and kerosene at Sh161.27.

EPRA said the prices will be in effect from July 15 to August 14.

It warned against retailing fuel higher than recommended, stating that any person convicted of the offence will be liable to a fine not less than Sh10 million or a term of imprisonment not less than five years, or both.

"Further, the Authority wishes to caution petrol station dealers that it is an offence to store or offer for sale adulterated or export-bound petroleum products. The Authority shall not hesitate to revoke licenses of petroleum dealers found to have committed such an offence," EPRA warned.
