Azimio La Umoja - One Kenya Coalition will not enter into a dialogue with the Kenya Kwanza administration, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has said.

In a video posted on X, Kioni said Azimio stands by the demands that have been put forward by Gen Zs, who have been holding countrywide anti-government protests in recent weeks.

“The official position of Azimio is that we are not entering into any dialogue with UDA and we are not joining the government of President William Ruto,” he said.

The Jubilee secretary-general noted that they have had a series of meetings was Azimio at different levels

Jubilee is an affiliate party of the opposition coalition, Azimio.

“We may have been reading from different scripts before the meeting we had yesterday. We have demands that we made that need to be addressed very quickly,” he stated.

On Wednesday, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) maintained that victims of police brutality during anti-government protests beginning last year must compensated before the National Convention.

In resolutions reached during the joint meeting of the Parliamentary Group and the National Executive Committee (NEC), ODM said compensation is one of the conditions to be met before the dialogue to create a conducive environment for talks.

Secretary General Edwin Sifuna's apprehension of officers implicated in these incidents is another condition that has to be met.

He added that the party wants an amnesty for all those arrested/abducted and the interdiction of Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei.

“The meeting endorsed the call by the Central Committee of the party during its meeting of July 12, 2024, for a National Convention that would bring together all the people of Kenya,” Sifuna revealed.

“This meeting reiterated the need for this convention to be all-inclusive, people-centred and constitutionalised.”

Sifuna added that the party leadership was expressly mandated to prioritise policy proposals on long-standing matters among them negative ethnicity, unemployment and social justice.
