Police said they had been called and informed the victim was lying on the roadside bleeding after the July 17 morning incident.

The team rushed to the scene at Dam View Bus Stage and found the victim attached to the Department of Defence headquarters bleeding profusely from the left hand bicep.

It was also established that he had arrived at the said stage and was waiting to board a matatu towards the city centre when he was accosted by two suspected thugs.

In an attempt to defend himself, he was stabbed and the two thugs fled, witnesses told police.

He was robbed of his mobile phone.

The victim was first rushed to Eagles Hospital Kangemi for first aid and later referred to Forces Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

The hunt on the thugs is ongoing, police said.

Elsewhere, police are looking for a suspect linked to the stabbing to death of a 54-year-old man in a love triangle saga in Teso North, Busia County.

The body of Desmond Omoit was found on the roadside near Kakurkit High School in the morning hours after he had been killed on July 15.

He was accused of having an illicit sexual affair with a married woman.

The alleged husband of the woman told locals he had attacked and stabbed the deceased after he found him with his wife in a compromising situation.

The wife however managed to escape the husband’s wrath.

Police visited the scene and moved the body to Kocholia Sub-County mortuary awaiting postmortem.
