President William Ruto has come under criticism for nominating six names of Cabinet secretaries who served in his first Cabinet for reappointment.

Guests at a special reunion episode of the iconic Crossfire Podcast, which was hosted by Radio Africa Group's founding Chief Executive Officer Patrick Quarcoo, said they were disappointed with the nominations.

Guests at the show include former Cabinet minister Mukhisa Kituyi, lawyer Judy Thongori, Mathare Social Justice Centre activist scholar Wanjira Wanjiru, and politician Tony Gachoka.

Wanjiri,23, said the President appears not willing to listen to Kenyans who said they want a better nation without corruption and better working systems.

“We are not short of leaders. Must we have Alice Wahome and Adan Duale in that Cabinet,” she said.

Kituyi said Kenyans are not outraged with the failures of certain individuals but the entire government.

“You cannot try to address the problem by changing a few names. Forming cabinet should not have been the first move but the last stage of addressing the concerns of Kenyans,” he said.

Thongori said the President was given a chance but seems not keen to utilise it.“He was given a chance but then, he gives us a team that people believe he did not take time to think about,” she added.
