Guests at a special reunion episode of the iconic Crossfire Podcast have urged President William Ruto to address issues raised by Gen Zs to end the country’s current crisis.

Former minister Mukhisa Kituyi said President William Ruto should learn to practice what he preaches.

“We are dealing with a dual-faced President. The President we are dealing with right now is not the same person we had during his swearing-in ceremony,” he said.

Kituyi regretted the President's remarks in Bomet on Sunday’saying Ruto should also know the country is bigger than the executive.

“When he says the country is more important than any of us, he should know that the country is also more important than Ruto,” he explained.

Lawyer Judy Thongori said the President needs to hear what the Gen Zs are saying.

“He is resisting change. You do not need a sponsor to tell you that you have no food on the table. He is blaming sponsors. The President is suffering from a disconnect with the people,” she said.

Thongori said Kenya does not need a dialogue or talks to address their concerns. Mathare Social Justice Centre activist scholar Wanjira Wanjiru said the anarchists Ruto talks about do not come from protesters.

“People have been paid to cause destruction,” she said.

She said Gen Zs will go to the streets until there is good governance in the country.

“We will protest every Tuesday and Thursday if that is what it takes to bring the change we want,” she added.
