Nominated Environment CS Aden Duale

President William Ruto has reassigned Defence CS nominee Aden Duale to the Environment Ministry.

Last week, the President nominated Duale to the Defence Ministry.

The Defence Ministry will now be headed by Soipan Tuya upon successful vetting by Parliament.

President Ruto communicated the changes through Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang'ula.

In a statement on X, Duale thanked the President for reasigning him to the environment docket.

The Environment CS nominee said that he looks forward to serving in his new role.

"I am grateful to President William Ruto for reassigning me from the Defence Ministry to the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry," he said.

"I look forward to serving in my new portfolio and ensuring the focus is on sustainable environmental management, combating climate change, and promoting reforestation and conservation efforts."

Quoting the Quran Duale said: "Indeed, 'And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows, but you do not know.' - Quran 2:216"

The names have been referred to the Committee on Appointments, which is expected to vet and table a report of the nominees within 28 days.

On Friday, the President appointed 10 CSs and the Attorney General to his Cabinet.

Among those nominated on Friday include Kithure Kindiki for the Ministry of the Interior and National Administration, Debra Mulongo Barasa for the Ministry of Health and Davis Chirchir named the Ministry of Roads and Transport CS.

Others are the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation ( Eric Muuga) Ministry of Education (Julius Migosi) and Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (Andrew Muhia Karanja).

The President further named Alice Wahome for the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development and Margaret Ndungu to head the Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy.

The President nominated Rebecca Miano as the Attorney General.
