President William Ruto on Wednesday named Stella Soi Lang'at as the Cabinet Secretary nominee for Gender, Arts and Culture.

She is among the 11 individuals named to join the cabinet following the recent dissolution.

The list is now set to be forwarded to Parliament and if approved, she will be appointed to succeed Aisha Jumwa who has been dropped.

Here is a brief profile.

Lang'at hails from Sotik subcounty in Bomet.

She is the current Director of Administration in the Ministry of Interior and Coordination and National Government.

She previously worked in the State Department of Housing and Urban Planning.

Lang'at was also the county secretary at the county government of Bomet between April 2020 to October 2021.

Before her appointment to the position, she was the senior deputy county commissioner II in charge of Nyando subcounty in 2019.

Between March 2015 to February 2019, she served as the as deputy commissioner for Bomet East, Sameta and Mwingi subcounties.

The nominee has also worked as an Under Secretary in the office of the Attorney General between February 2014 to March 2015.

Lang'at holds a Masters Degree in public administration (executive) from Moi University and Bachelors Degree in Political science.
