Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has urged Kenyans to abide by the law even when they feel offended by the direction the government is taking.

Mudavadi concurred that Kenya is going through challenging times but maintained that the country’s situation should not be a reason to cause chaos.

“Let us be patriotic. Even when we have problems, we must make sure we follow the law when we want to be heard,” he stated.

Mudavadi made the remarks on Friday during the burial of Susan Wanjohi, mother of the Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau in Nanyuki, Laikipia County.

Present at the event were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Cabinet nominees Soipan Tuya, Alice Wahome and Rebecca Miano and former National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u.

Mudavadi regretted that many lives have been lost and property destroyed during recent anti-government protests.

"Many people have lost their livelihoods. Some had loans they are servicing. Some have lost their lifetime savings. We know insurance firms do not compensate people when they lose their properties in such circumstances,” he added.

He said the protests have negatively impacted many sectors of the economy across the country.

“Whatever we do, we must not cause problems to those who have nothing to do with what is going on,” he urged.
